May 12th - June 6th | L.A. STORIES:100 Years of Watson Family Press Photography

We are delighted to announce that on May 12th FATHOM will be hanging an expanded version of our inaugural exhibition: L.A. Stories: 100 Years of Press Photography from the Watson Family Photographic Archive.

For this special engagement, we've pulled prints from three previous museum exhibitions, staged across a forty year timespan.  On view and available for purchase for the first time are vintage prints, signed lifetime prints and modern exhibition prints.  Every single print in the exhibition has previously hung in a museum.

The Watson Family legacy is intertwined with the history of Los Angeles and the birth of film industry.  It’s a truly incredible story.  The Story of Los Angeles captured by 4 generations of newspaper photographers, 10 men all from the same family.

May 30th | 100 Years of Photo Tech | An Evening with Daniel Watson

Closing out the L.A. Stories exhibition, is a special evening with Mr. Daniel Watson in which he demonstrates the effects of each generation of Watson camera technology had on the nature of press photography.  This is truly a rare opportunity to see the vintage Watson cameras and the pictures they made side-by-side.
